George Espy, new Forum Board Chair and President of Ohio Grantmakers Forum, launched the Four for the Forum campaign at the National Conference for Regional Associations in Santa Fe.  We are asking regional association staff to dedicate at least four hours per month over the next year to strengthening the Forum network by sharing their work, helping others, or participating in network-wide initiatives. This simple slogan encapsulates an important network principle—that small efforts by many can lead to big benefits for all.

June 2010 Four for the Forum Opportunities

1. Fill out the grantmaker education provider survey- As a part of the Forum's joint grantmaker education initiative with the Council on Foundations, we are collecting data from those providing grantmakers with educational opportunities.  If your regional association has yet to fill out the survey, please take 10 minutes to share your regional's work.  Contact: Val Rozansky, 703-879-0808.

2.  Volunteer to share a regional association collaboration project at the network conference in Chicago- This summer's conference will feature a session to showcase regional collaborative efforts.  Interested partnerships will have the opportunity to lead a roundtable discussion with your peers to share what you've accomplished and sign-up new participants.  Contact: Courtney Moore, 703-879-0809.

3.  Join the online job board working group- We are exploring developing a national job bank that regionals could contribute to and embed on your sites as an additional resource for job seekers. Contact: Dan Brady, 703-879-0807.

4. Fill out and promote the FOTH 2011 survey- Take this quick 4 question survey to share your thoughts on programming for next year's Foundations on the Hill, March 8-9, 2011.  We also encourage you to share this with your members who have attended in the past to provide their input. Contact: Courtney Moore, 703-879-0809.

5. Write a blog entry for LearnPhilanthropy.net- Share your thoughts and resources about grantmaker education on the Forum/COF initiative's blog, LearnPhilanthropy.net.  Also, provide a comment on an existing post and follow the work on Twitter and Facebook.  Contact: Dan Brady, 703-879-0807.

6. Share community foundation resources- We are always looking for great content to add to the KnowledgeBase.  This month we are looking to boost our materials for community foundations.  Contact: Dan Brady, 703-879-0807.

7. Join an upcoming network discussion- Share your successes and ideas and ask questions with your colleagues on an upcoming call on topics including programming and social media (see the upcoming events list below for details). Contact: Courtney Moore, 703-879-0809.

8. Your own suggestion- Have an idea of how the network can work together on an existing project or a new one?  Contact: Courtney Moore, 703-879-0809.
