History
The “promotion of philanthropy” coalitions New Ventures supported during its first phase (1998-2002) leveraged a national investment of $14 million (matched by $7 million in local funds) into more than $527 million in community assets.
More importantly, local coalitions experimented with and demonstrated effective strategies for catalyzing new philanthropy among diverse populations across the country. Their work has significantly increased the understanding of promising practices that result in new giving.
