Join a Regional Association of Grantmakers
Specific membership criteria and dues structures vary from region to region; however, the following types of organizations are always eligible for membership in the regional association of grantmakers that covers the region in which that organization is either based or does significant grantmaking:- Private foundations
- Family foundations
- Community foundations
- Businesses with foundations or corporate giving programs
In addition, many regional associations also welcome one or more of the following:
- Public foundations
- Operating foundations
- Donor advised funds
- Funds addressing particular populations, e.g., women’s or Native American funds
- Individual donors
- Financial or legal advisors to donors
- Charitable nonprofit, grantseeking organizations (usually as associate members)
