Learning Together in Place

Will Kauffman and Christopher Johnson present at EPIP 2015 Annual Conference in New Orleans.

Last week in New Orleans, members of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) gathered for their annual conference with the purpose of developing leaders who are better equipped to advance social change. Through the lens of social justice, the conference planned to expose conference participants to fresh ideas, provide stellar examples of emerging leaders, and create pathways to meaningful change. With that kind of energy, you had to know that the Forum Network would be there!

Christopher Johnson of Florida Philanthropic Network and Will Kauffman of Southeastern Council of Foundations teamed up with Emily Wexler of Grantmakers for Effective Organizations to lead a session titled " Learning Together in Place: Enhancing Your Impact through Regional Associations and Other Member Networks." Christopher, Will, and Emily's sessions helped funders understand their place as a place-based grantmaker through the value of regional associations, identify ways to further innovation, and show how impact can be enhanced by working and learning collectively with other key stakeholders.

Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy is a national network of foundation professionals and social entrepreneurs who strive for excellence in the practice of philanthropy. EPIP's mission is to develop emerging leaders committed to building a just, equitable, and sustainable society.
